The Ironwood Farm Bowling Green is a beautiful pre-Civil War estate built in 1852 by U.S. Senator
Joseph Underwood and his bride, Elizabeth Cox. This 500-acre farm of rolling hills is surrounded by the
Barren River, a place that is stunning for photos and a serene setting for you and your guests to enjoy.
Besides the setting, the location also features a thoroughbred horse barn where you can meet all the
friendly horses.
Details of the Grounds
When coming to Ironwood Farm Bowling Green, you can choose from a few different ceremony and
reception spaces. You can choose to host your ceremony inside the barn, which features large barn doors,
natural lighting, iron stairs, and a terrace. The outdoor barn is located near the meadow. At these
locations, you’ll also find 250 fruitwood chairs and a movable indoor/outdoor arbor.
You can host your celebration inside the barn for a reception, which features a beautiful wooden interior,
large chandeliers, and barn doors. Each of the venues can host up to 250 guests. Suppose you’re planning
on hosting a cocktail hour. In that case, you can plan to use the terrace above the indoor ceremony space
or utilize the area in the stable aisle. The venue is also home to getting-ready spaces with restrooms and
changing rooms.

are one-day events from 6 am to midnight. The Weekend Packages are for Friday through Sunday
weddings from Friday at 8 am to Sunday at noon.
