Located in Sonora, Kentucky, Thurman Landing offers a secluded space for your wedding. The grounds on this property include Claudia’s Catering, the Tea Room, 1901 Lake House, The Thurman-Phillips Guest home, and their new event facility, which hosts many events every year.

When it comes to both your ceremony and reception, the Thurman Landing wedding venue features a few different spaces where you and your forever love can celebrate your day with all of your friends and family.
Ceremony Spaces at Thurman Landing
You can choose a few indoor and outdoor locations for a ceremony space. The time of year and how many guests you invite to your wedding will help determine which space would work best for you. The Courtyard and the Docks allow for 100 guests. The Courtyard features a beautiful white gazebo and is a short walk to multiple reception spaces. The Docks enable guests to sit on the bank while the married couple stands on the dock overlooking the lake/fountain. The Barn can host 275 guests and is 5000 square feet of event space with chandeliers. It features heat and AC so that you can hold your wedding here any time of the year. You can also explore other areas, including:
- The Clearing (275 guests)
- Lake View (300 guests)
- Fire Pit (150 guests)
- Pavillion in the Woods (200 guests)
Reception Spaces at Thurman Landing
Regarding reception spaces, you can utilize any of the locations above or choose to host your reception in the Party Room. This location is an elegant space for wine and hors d’oeuvres after the ceremony. In addition, this is an excellent spot for hightops or tables and an area to dance in the middle of the room. The Party Room is also a great place to host your cocktail hour.
Additional Spaces
If you need a getting ready space, you can utilize the Carriage House, which doubles as a getting ready room for both the bride and bridesmaids and the groom and groomsmen. This room offers plenty of space for any pre-wedding fun with both parties and a space to take some wedding portraits and detail shots.

Because of how many different spaces there are on the Thurman Landing property, you can find some incredible opportunities for wedding photos, including:

Wedding Details
The starting fee for wedding ceremonies at Thurman Landing is $500 and $500 for receptions. Additionally, the starting price per person for bar service is $6. If some of your guests want to stay on property, the venue can accommodate your guests in the Studio Apartment, the Carriage House, the 1901 Lake House, and the 1897 Historic Thurman-Phillips Guest Home. Among the beautiful spaces are also some fun amenities, including golf carts and horse and carriage rides.
