About Little Playland
Owners Kaila and Wayne have two young children and recognized the need for a place that was specifically designed for younger children. A place they felt safe to explore and play. As a family they enjoy going to different Children’s museums around the country and that was really their inspiration for Little Playland. A place where imaginative pretend play being available locally is great because not all children like loud adrenaline type environments. Especially during the winter months when outdoor activities are too cold, kids can still come to play and socialize together.
Play Areas and Themed Rooms
They have a 3 and under only area, which is designed with toys specific to that age group. There is also a gate to make it easier on the parents and the youngest kids safe inside the area.
The make believe city area is for all ages! Within this area is a pretend doctor office, vet center, market, cafe, school, and train table. The kids can enjoy playing pretend with their parents in here and making them lunch!
In another room there is the big nature playground which has also been deemed the “Tree House”. There you will find two slides, a rock wall, and a tunnel underneath featuring our pretend campsite with a camp fire toys and fun toy bugs hidden throughout. There is also a second blocked off baby area connecting that room for parents who have multiple ages, so you can watch both areas at the same time.
The last room is the Builder’s room for 3 years and up. Featuring Lego walls, a Lego table, magnatiles, and stackable wooden blocks and logs. This is a great area for the older kids to really let their creativity shine!
Ages, Pricing, and Hours of Operation
Little Playland is open for children up to 8 years old. The 8 year cutoff is based on experiences you’d have visiting other Children’s Museums around the country and is necessary to create a safe environment for younger children to play and explore. They hope to expand areas in the future to create areas for all ages to play.
They are open Mondays from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and Thursdays through Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. During the winter months, additional hours may be added.
There is a fee of $12.00 per child with a play time of two hours per visit. They also have a monthly membership option!
Little Playland is located at 2408 Ring Rd, suite 600 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
Sanitization
Little Playland sanitizes the areas by wiping down surfaces as well as using UV technology to clean toys and rooms. They feature a UV light box to clean small toys and a large stand to clean each room. There are also 2 HEPA air filters which circulate 2000 sq. ft every 2 hours.
Coffee for the Parents
To make things even better, they serve a fresh pot of hot coffee each morning and it is complimentary for parents and guardians. They want to make sure that the parents can have a great time and be comfortable while your kids play.
Bonus Party Room
They have two options for our party room. Both options allow you to bring in food and drinks. The best part, is that Little Playland will clean up for you after the party. There is a no alcohol policy as well as a few other restrictions. Older kids are invited to join the party but cannot play on the nature playground, however they can play in the Builders Space with their younger friends and family if they like.
Prices of the party room during normal business hours are: $225 for 12 kids plus their adults for two hours. With this option you share the playground space with the public.
Prices for the private facility party are: $300 for 20 kids plus their adults for three hours. You would have the entire facility for just your party; closed to the public. The private party option however is only available on Sundays or Monday through Thursday after 5:00pm.
