As a Kentucky wedding photographer, I had the incredible opportunity to capture my first destination wedding in the picturesque city of Asheville, North Carolina. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the mountains, Melissa and Ty’s intimate Asheville wedding reflected their love for each other, and their shared love of Asheville’s friendly atmosphere and scenic beauty.
Melissa and Ty are the sweetest couple! Their love story is a testament to the strength and commitment they share. After 8 years of navigating through various jobs, homes, and adventures together, they knew that Asheville was the ideal place for their wedding. Melissa, a senior staff accountant for Hughes & Coleman Injury Lawyers, and Ty, the owner of Peek Performance Parts, a reputable reseller and authorized dealer for automotive performance parts, have always been drawn to the city’s charm, vibrant energy, and dog-friendly environment. They also love the natural beauty and gorgeous views of the mountains. Needless to say, Heaven’s Cloud Event Center provided the perfect backdrop to their picturesque ceremony.
Intimate Asheville Wedding
Leading up to Melissa and Ty’s wedding, the forecast was calling for rain. Thankfully, on their wedding day, there wasn’t a rain cloud in sight! The sun shined down as the couple exchanged vows under a wooden pergola decorated with gorgeous florals and greenery, surrounded by their closest friends and family. Heaven’s Cloud Event Center provided a serene and enchanting atmosphere for their union. Their outdoor ceremony took place in a field sprinkled with little yellow buttercup flowers, set against the lush greenery and rolling hills of the venue.
During their ceremony, Melissa and Ty created a time capsule box that contained heartfelt letters from their guests. This sentimental gesture symbolized their commitment to revisit these messages on their 5th anniversary, a time to reflect on their journey and the love that surrounded them on their wedding day.
Every aspect of Melissa and Ty’s intimate Asheville wedding was thoughtfully planned and infused with personal significance and elegance. With a smaller guest list of around 32 loved ones, the intimate setting allowed for heartfelt connections and meaningful conversations throughout the celebration. The couple’s attention to detail created an inviting ambiance resulting in an unforgettable experience for everyone present.
A custom ring box made of wood with a personalized engraving held their wedding rings before the ceremony. Melissa, the stunning bride, wore a lacy, flowy wedding gown. Her beautiful bridal bouquet held a special tribute to her late grandfather, known as Pepaw, featuring a buckeye ball that was once his. The bridesmaids each had mountain rings that Melissa had used to ask them to be a part of this cherished celebration.
Asheville Wedding Portraits
After their heartfelt ceremony, the newlyweds rode away in a white Chevy Chevelle SS. This sentimental vehicle was one the couple had fixed up and got running just in time for their special day! After a quick ride, we then ventured to two iconic locations in Asheville to capture their wedding portraits. The River Arts District and Pack Square Park provided a stunning backdrop that beautifully showcased their love and the city’s vibrant culture. The newlyweds embraced the city setting, creating timeless memories in each frame.
Melissa and Ty’s destination wedding in Asheville, NC, was a perfect celebration of their love and friendship. From their heartfelt ceremony against the scenic landscape, to the enchanting portraits captured around downtown Asheville, every moment was a testament to their love story. It was an honor to be a part of their special day, and I wish them a lifetime of love, happiness, and adventures.
