I recently had the joy of capturing Mary and Logan’s beautiful Louisville Wedding! From a stunning Catholic ceremony at The Cathedral of the Assumption, to the timeless elegance of The Olmsted, every detail came together to create a day filled with love, beauty, and cherished memories.
The forecast leading up to their wedding day threatened rain and thunderstorms, however, the rain cleared well before Mary and Logan’s wedding festivities began. The clear skies were a welcomed gift!
Wedding Day Details
Mary and her bridesmaids readied themselves at Mary’s childhood home. Mary’s choice of perfume was a nod to her new journey with her husband, as the name of the fragrance shared the same name as her now-married last name. I loved this added personal touch! Her stunning wedding dress, designed by Essence of Australia, featured sparkles and intricate details. Her glamorous look was completed with a floor-length veil.
The wedding’s color palette – baby blue, pink, and coral – was a lovely combination of delicate hues. The bridesmaids’ dresses, each in different styles reflecting their own unique personality, were all coordinated in shades of baby blue. The wedding bouquets mirrored this color scheme, with pink and white flowers interspersed with pops of light blue and coral. Blooms by Essential Details did an amazing job creating these gorgeous floral arrangements.
Their wedding ceremony at The Cathedral of the Assumption was a timeless Catholic affair, deeply meaningful and rich in tradition. The choice of this cathedral held special significance, as it was the same place where Mary’s parents had exchanged vows! I loved this touching connection to her family’s history and the sentiment behind it. This historical church is also breathtaking. The cathedral features a painted ceiling that resembles a starry night sky. It is truly remarkable! During the ceremony, the priest gifted Mary and Logan a blessed rosary and cross, symbolizing their faith and the sacred journey they were embarking upon.
The reception at The Olmstead
Following the traditional ceremony, close family and friends stood outside for a grand bubble exit. The newlyweds then went on to celebrate their love with their family and friends at The Olmstead. This historic estate, enveloped by nature’s beauty, provided a perfect spot for their wedding portraits. The Olmstead’s timeless architectural details made decorating a minimal necessity. Mary and Logan did add personal touches, one of which included a display of three wedding dresses from their parents and grandparents. This was such a beautiful and unique set up that showed the loved and importance of marriage passed down through generations. The venue’s historic charm blended perfectly with the couple’s vision.
Mary and Logan’s wedding at The Olmstead in Louisville, Kentucky, was a day that radiated love, tradition, and natural beauty. It was an honor to capture their special day, and I wish this beautiful couple a lifetime filled with love and happiness. Congratulations!
